I don't think this is immediately obvious from the LabVIEW 2012 help but I think it's fairly clear if you follow the link from the Unflatten from String help page to one of the examples. In any event, in LV2009, doubles and ext (but not ints) are converted to I64's before formatting. Format Into String seems to work (although it won't accept arrays, so you'll have to loop over it).
